Comment: Thomas Jefferson ELLIOTT born 14 Aug 1849 in Pickaway County,Ohio and died 21 May 1922 in Hancock County, Indiana. He and his wife were buried in Surgar Creek Cemetary in Hancock County. Comment: I am seeking the parents of Josiah Fenton COOPER who was born in 27 July 1805 in Virginia or West Virginia. (His daughter Ruth COOPER SMARTWOOD, listed his place of nativity in the 1900 census for Bartholomew Co., Indiana as being West Virginia). Josiah was an early inhabitant of Belmont Co., Ohio. He married Rebecca SPRAGUE in Belmont Co., Ohio on 16 October 1828. Rebecca was the daughter of Samuel K. SPRAGUE and Mary Ann LEATHERMAN. They lived close to Morre's Run of Captina Creek in Mead Township in 1830 Belmont Co., Ohio. Then in 1836 Josiah purchased land in Adams Township, Monroe Co., Ohio near the town of Woodfield. He was an early member of the Disciples of Christ, a church started by Alexander Campbell in Brooke Co., Va. that is today called the Church of Christ. He baptised people and attached the title of Esquire to his name. In November 1841 Josiah purchased land in Bartholomew Co., Indiana and moved his family there. They lived in Ohio Township in!
Bartholmew Co., Indiana and Josiah died there of palsy 12 August 1868. His wife survived him some years but I do not know where she is buried or when she died. Josiah is buried in the South Bethany Christian Church Cemetery. They had the following children: Mary Ann, b.1829 - Mahala Jane, b.1833 - John William, b.1835 - Sarah E., b.1837 - Josiah Fenton Jr., b.1837 - Rebecca, b.1839 - Melissa Emma, b.1841 - Ruth E., b.1843 - Martha A., b.1847 - Nathan Edmund, b.1848.

Comment: I am searching for any information on the following individuals: Herbert James KANE, married Cora FARMER. Herbert James KANE was born May 3, 1883, in Sturgis, Michigan. His parents names were Frank KANE and Cora Dell REYNOLDS . Herbert James was supposedly an orphan, being raised by an "Aunt Sadie" in Richland, Iowa. After his marriage to Cora, they lived all over Iowa and he disappeared from Cedar Rapids, Iowa around 1925-1926. Herbert's parents Frank and Cora were married August 15, 1882 in Indiana, (either Albion or Ligionere). Frank was born around 1858. His father's name was Thomas KANE and his mother was Mary GLEN. Cora Dell REYNOLDS was born around 1852. Her father's name was Dudley H. REYNOLDS and her mother's name was Harriet PARKER. If anyone has any information on these surnames mentioned, I would appreciate a response. Thank you.

His papers also state that they came to see a William TRICKEY. As far as I know they had one son named George W. TRICKEY (My Great Grandfather), b: 7/02/1879 in Quebec, Canada. George lived in Hersey, St. Croix Co., WI, and then in Homer, Dakota Co., NE. He married Emma Leona HARRIS on 4/20/1898 in Hersey, Springfield Co., WI. So, I am giving you the information I have on him, in hopes that someone will recognize his family and know who his mother and daddy were. His name is Burnett WATSON. He was born and reared in Covington County AL. Born in 1885 and died 1944 in Mobile Alabama. We cannot find him on 1890 census due to it being destroyed. He was listed on 1900 census under Emmec WATSON, b. 1862, as head of household. She had three children listed as Hatta L., b. 1895, Carl, b. 1897, and Francis E., b. 1898. Under the children is listed Burnett WATSON, brother, b. 1885, and Austin J. WATSON, brother, b. 1888. Burnett married Pearlie CARTRIGHT on Now. 30, 1907. On a 1920 census they are listed with children Robert D., my granddaddy, Mattie Lee, Willie Rae, and Billette. They later had 2 more children, Burnett A. , Bobbie Lee.
