Name: Mark Minter Comment: A group of us who are online and are descendants of Lewis Jefferson CHRISTIAN have been searching many years for his birthplace and for the names of his parents. His tombstone in Gentry County, Missouri, says that he was born 12 April 1811 and that he died 26 March 1896. Census records indicate he was born somewhere in Tennessee. He married Lavina FRAZIER, the daughter of Thomas FRAZIER, Jr., and Mary M. SHAFFER, on 3 March 1831 in Putnam County, Indiana. Lewis and Lavina moved to Gentry County, Missouri, around 1850 and lived there the rest of their lives. Altogether, they had ten children. Lavina's tombstone in the same cemetery in Gentry County says that she was born 19 March 1812 (in Greene County, Tennessee)and died 27 January 1901.
